Leaving a Legacy of FAITH

Life seems to happen in “stages”, although I don’t always see it that way at the time. Watching our youngest child graduate from college, followed by Mother’s Day… now Fathers Day, I can't help but reflect on the legacy we are leaving. It seems like only a few years since Nancy and I were at this same stage of life. (It was actually over 30 years ago, and we got married the day of graduation instead of going to commencement!)

A “Legacy” is the reputation that exists outside of yourself. What are we really passing on to our family, our friends, and others we influence? Are they better for having known us? More hopeful, courageous, more trusting in the Lord? We certainly hope that they are! Time will tell. The truth is that we often don’t get to see the impact we have made in this life. Yet, every day of life matters! So, we live each day for itself, and for others, in view of eternity. May our lives please God and bless others, in every stage.
